The Sterford Group Consortium has within it one of the UK’s premier, multi-disciplinary engineering and environmental consultancies, delivering both small and large-scale projects nationally and internationally. The company pioneered the fast track construction methods that have transformed the appearance of the City of London and many other towns and cities in the UK.
Projects range from small town centre shopping areas to some of the most prestigious building projects in the UK. Experience ranges from structural engineering to environmental sciences and from geographical regions as far apart as England or China. Successfully engineered projects include ingenious design solutions, which have been based on providing practical and cost-effective solutions to clients.
Their skills have widened progressively to cover the full range of engineering disciplines, as follows:

The ArrowBio process was developed to meet the problem of modern waste disposal. ArrowBio treats waste as a resource rather than a disposal problem. The ArrowBio process is not a static system. It is fully adaptable and flexible to meet a range of customer requirements. The system prevents the release of methane to atmosphere, preventing global warming and contributing to carbon reduction.
The ArrowBio process integrates a water based materials reclaimation facility and an anaerobic digestion based waste water treatment facility. The combination eliminates any need for prior separation of mixed waste streams.

Following ten years of research and development, our partners have now released their first biomass generator. It produces 100kW electricity and 150kW-heat energy from totally renewable sources, saving c.600 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions per unit per year when compared to conventional fossil fuel powered systems.
The unit burns a wide variety of biomass fuels including wood chips, coppiced willow and miscanthus (elephant grass). The first production unit has been installed at Harper Adams University College and is also being used to test the suitability of other agricultural residue fuels such as wheat straw. It has a unique design that harnesses the power of nature in a carbon neutral manner and has been designed to be ideally suited for rural use and easily transportable to areas where the fuel is cultivated or indeed grows naturally i.e. Invader Bush (Acacia). In operation the unit is totally automated including the fuel feed and is designed for continuous 24/7 operation with minimal service downtime. It will generate sufficient electricity for most farms and small townships providing hot water for domestic and other purposes. This also means that a significant diversification source of revenue is possible from the sale of electricity.
At the heart of the system is a micro turbine generator, which is adapted to a patented concept. The whole system other than the external fuel bunker is contained in two stacked shipping containers making transportation as easy as possible. On site installation is minimal since the units are factory assembled in the containers.
Ultimately these biomass systems will enable individuals and remote communities to reduce reliance upon fossil fuels in an environmentally responsible manner, whilst saving on fluctuating gas and oil prices.
